Many residents here are still not back to par, since that bug had been making its round so not too much news again this week.
A number of folks made it out to the Thursday Coffee Chat time. Not sure how many, but the table was full part of the time. Some ladies brought some tasty treats. One especially for Glenn Trick who likes his chocolate and peanut butter. So they're spoiling him. He usually gets something chocolate.
Dr. Steven Hartung was at Cedar Ridge on Thursday to see his patients here and from the surrounding areas.
Arlene Quail spent last Friday through Wednesday with her daughter, Suzie Quail in LaPorte. The flu bug found her over there, so she stayed longer than planned.
Arlene's grandson Kenny Quail called on her Saturday evening.
After church services on Sunday, Irma Earley had lunch with her daughter Maxine and Dave Shedden at the Iron Skillet Restaurant in Sylvania.
My granddaughter Kelsey Lepper Hicks and little Alivia visited me for a while on Saturday afternoon.
Valentines are sprouting all over the place recently. They look bright and colorful on the doors. Of course there are still lots of snowmen around also.
Actually a couple real snowmen are outside. Carol Brown made two earlier today. I saw one, it's really cute. Haven't gotten out to see the other one. It was starting to sleet then, so Carol said she was done for today.
My niece Barby Matthews stopped in on Friday, also. She was gathering some things for her mom, Jeannette May. Jeannette is still in Florida with her daughter, Becky and Dr. Scott.
Carol Cole reported that her son John Jamison from Maryland has been visiting her for about a week. Carol said they had a great time out and about while he was here seeing other family members in the area.
Carol also wrote about her little friend and companion "Micah"
Four tiny feet and perky brown
ears
Together we are growing old
He doesn't like rain,
I don't like cold.
His facial hair is turning white and
His dimming eyes don't see well
at night.
Sometime soon he will go to
sleep,
While I with memories sit & weep.

Mary Turner said that she attended the movie "Into the Woods" showing at the Rialto Theatre on Saturday. Mary said it was very good and she really enjoyed it.
When I called her about the Super Bowl game, she wasn't very happy about that. Mary is a real football fan.
When I stopped to see Jessie Herman this morning, she said that Roger and Janet Graham spent an afternoon with her one day this past week going over their genealogies.
Frances Kobbe's son Richard and Barb Kobbe came to see her this past week and brought her a new portable phone.
I went to breakfast with my sons, Ralph Lepper and Dann and Wendy Lepper after Mass on Sunday. We ate at Kelley's Creek Side Restaurant after which I went to the store to pick up a few things before the snow storm.
Quite a few residents have been playing cards in the community room here during these winter months. Others on the second floor have been working on puzzles. I see another one has been finished, so I'm sure another one will be started soon.
