What a beautiful day we had to celebrate Thanksgiving Day with family. It was a winter wonderland overlooking "The Ridge" and down through the valley.
I enjoyed driving to LeRoy after attending Mass and stopping at my daughter, Debbie and Denny Foust's home to spend some time with their family of Fousts and Deaks.
The mountains were dazzling as I made my way to LeRoy where I joined my son Ralph and Judy Lepper and their family at Dave and Amy DeCristos' home for the Thanksgiving feast.
When I saw Pauline Watts earlier, she said that she didn't get out, but a kind neighbor brought her a delicious Thanksgiving meal and she is very thankful for that.
Arlene Quail reported that she spent Saturday and Sunday with her daughter, Susie Quail and Jim in LaPorte during the holiday weekend.
LaVonne McNett said that she attended the free showing of "Cirque di Soliel" at the Rialto Theatre on Saturday. LaVonne commented that she enjoyed it very much and extends many thanks to the Canton Chamber of Commerce and Canton Moose Family Center #429. It was an event she would never have been able to see other than through media, she said.
On Tuesday this past week, Debbie Elliot took her mother, Irma Earley for a long car ride and had lunch with her.
Irma said she was at her daughter Debbie and Tom Elliot's home in Towanda for Thanksgiving.
Kathy Temple reported that she spent the weekend at her sister Bonnie Vanemon's home where they decorated the lawn with wooden Christmas ornaments that they made.
Recent callers of Jessie Herman this past week were William, Clara Mae and Amy Rusk of Canton and Lois Finch from Wyalusing, Roger Hickok of Canton also stopped in for a visit with Jessie.
Mable DeBruin was at her niece Mary Ellen and Ray Gordner's home with other family members for Thanksgiving.
Charlotte Tillotson had a great time at her granddaughter Jamie Pepper's home in Maryland where she spent the week.
Frances Kobbe said that she joined family members at the home of her granddaughter Lisa and Bobby Mulcahy on Thanksgiving Day. Frances commented that it was an enjoyable time with five generations being represented at the event.
Last Tuesday I was in Troy, I stopped in to see Sandie and Harry Jones I told them I came to get their news. They seem to be settled in and said that I made the eighth person from Cedar Ridge to visit them.
Before I left Harry said I could write that he is having cataract surgery. The first eye is being done today, we all wish him well.
My son Dann and Wendy Lepper came after Mass on Sunday to show me all the wedding pictures, so I could pick out what I want. With Wendy's help, I think I'm getting what I want. I made pancakes and eggs for breakfast. Ralph also joined us, so it was a nice morning.
Roxie Holmes just stopped in to bring me my ticket for the Christmas Celebration Conglomeration and told me she spent Thanksgiving Day and weekend in Alexandria with her granddaughter Brittany Wilson and husband Shawn. Roxie said she had a wonderful time.
Mary Turner was in downtown Canton for the Light Night happenings. Mary said that she saw Santa and even got to sit on his lap. How cool is that? Mary commented that she especially enjoyed the hot cider they were serving during the festivities.
