Don't let the sun fool you however, it's darn cold outside with the blustery wind. I was only outside for a moment and if I need to go out again I will wear a warmer coat.
Some of my neighbors put their news items in the mailbox. My thanks to them! What a good way to start the new year.
I pray that everyone had a blessed Christmas and that this New Year is good to all.
For the most part, folks here enjoyed spending some time with their families during the holidays.
Arlene Quail spent the week of Christmas with her daughter Susan Quail and Tim in Laporte, PA.
Susan's son, Logan Masteller was with his mother and Arlene for Christmas dinner and on Sunday Arlene's daughter, Carol and Tom Sager joined them for dinner.
I went to Montoursville for Christmas dinner at my granddaughter Julie and Jeff Deak's home. I went with my son-in-law, Denny Foust to spend Christmas Day with them and their boys Jacob and Joel Francis. Jeff's parents, Fran and Andrea Deak were also there for the delicious meal prepared by Julie. My daughter Debbie Foust was fighting off that mean bug that's around, so couldn't be there. That didn't seem right somehow. I thinks she was able to spend New Year''s Day with them so that bug didn't ruin everything.
Irma Earley with her daughter Deb Eilliot visited Janet Segur last Tuesday to wish her a Merry Christmas.
On Thursday, Irma's family gathered at her daughter Maxine and David Shedden's home. On the evening, Thursday, Julie Parker visited Irma bearing gifts for her.
On Friday, Deb and Irma drove to Twin Oaks to see Irma's brother Paul Machmer Sr.
After church servics, Sunday, Irma had lunch at the home of Maxine and David with her family.
Irma was happy to see Jim, Linda, and Sean Shedden who were visiting from Indonesia while there.
There was no church service on the Mountain, Sunday, due to the ice on the road, Irma said; but Maxine and Dave brought her supper in the evening.
We're glad to hear that Kathy Temple is able to be home from her sister's where she had been staying since her accident. She is very glad to be back with her kitten "Flower" she wrote.
Carol Brown reported that she was at her son's for Christmas. They had a delicious meal and a very good time, it was real nice visiting with everyone she said.
On December 28th, Carol reported that her granddaughters Cheyene and Haylee, along with Cheyene's friend, Gavin Glisson and his sister Raven were at her apartment for supper. After the meal they enjoyed a gift exchange and Carol said that a good time was had by all.
I was kind of hurrying around gathering news a little early, because I was watching my little Alivia Jo in the afternoon, while her mom kept an appointment. Anyway I stopped in to check with Jessy Herman and we visited and visited, so don't think I was any earlier. But you know I love visiting her. She is one special lady!
Jessy said that she had lots of company for Christmas. Many brought goodies. Jessy said also that all her family came to see her, except for her grandson Michael Herman who lives in California and couldn't make it.
Charlotte Tillotson stopped in and she said that her son Jim Tillotson took her to get her medicines this morning.
She also reported that she had a great Christmas spending many different days with three different families.
Charlotte also brought a calendar for 2015 from CAT to give my grandson who deals with heavy equipment and liked last year's calendar. Thanks so much to her and her son, Jim for that.
Frances Kobbe wrote that she hosted her family here in the community room, Dec. 29th for a late Christmas party. Many of her family were present and her niece and husband Larry and Linda Dreste Anderson from Canadaigua, NY pleasantly surprised them making for a fun and enjoyable time seeing everyone.
Frances said that she was able to hold the latest additions to the family, three month old twin girls, Katelyn and Klora Benson. The girls are the children of her grandson Brian and Linda Kobbe family.
Frances commented that a delicious meal was enjoyed and gifts were exchanged during the happy occasion.
After attending Mass on New Year's Day, I went to my son Dann and Wendy Lepper's home for dinner with them and their daughter, Jessy and Marcus Oldroyd. Another great meal and even some to bring home for the next day. Yummy!
I made a New Year's resolution to improve my penmanship. The staff at the Sentinel who have to read this. Anyway I hope they appreciate the effort, because I don't think I'm making much progress.
