Several people have May birthdays including Lester Maynard who will be eighty-eight on the 11th.
Shedden's Wholesale donated flowers for each mother who was present in honor of Mother's Day on Sunday, May 10th.
Mary McKerrow reminded the members that we will hold a bake sale on June 14th. There is a sign-up sheet in the front of the room. She also read some information about famous mothers, some humorous definitions and some jokes about growing old. Melba Campbell read a short poem about who loves Mother best. Announcements were read about a chicken barbeque to be held on Sunday at the South Creek Fire Hall. Orders need to be made before that date. There is also a miniature golf tournament sponsored by the Missions and Education Committee of the Gillett Baptist church on May 19th or 21st to raise money for missions. Participants may sign up to play either Tuesday or Thursday anytime from 5-9 p.m.
Next week members are asked to bring their favorite rhubarb recipes. We will have a special menu on that day, also. On May 28th the Amigos, a musical group, will be entertaining..
A raffle was held and the winners were: Helen Antes, Melba Campbell, Jackie Woughter, Phyllis Ward, Anna Belle Leonard, Clair Mickley and Lynn Maynard.
The members recited the Pledge of Allegiance and Pastor Micky Cavanaugh asked the blessing on the meal. The menu was chicken tetrazzini with fettuccine noodles, peas, pineapple and whole grain bread.
