If you agree that you hope or believe that there is, “something” out there, then who or what do you think or hope that it is? Have you thought much about it? Investigated? There are many religions and theories about deities (Gods), scientific explanations, paranormal activity, aliens etc. Do you believe that there is probably only one true explanation? If so, is there a purpose to life, our planet, the universe? Your life? Do our lives have meaning? Is there something out there that really cares about us? Cares at all?
The only figure in major religion that walked among men on earth and claimed to be God Himself was Jesus. All other major religious figures or “prophets” pointed toward something or someone else. Did Jesus prove He was God? Well none of the other figures performed ANY miracles, predicted future events (prophecies) with any accuracy or fulfilled many if any prior prophecies, (predictions) in their lives. Jesus did, and with an exclamation point! It’s not even close. Thousands of people saw Jesus perform major miracles, (including raising dead people to life). He also fulfilled literally hundreds of prior prophesies written in the Bible as to specifically where and how He was born, what He did in life and how He died. Hundreds! The odds are literally astronomical.
What do you feel when you make a wish at a wishing well? Jesus asked His disciples in Mark 8:29, "But what about you?" he asked. "Who do you say I am?" Who do YOU say He is? Is it about time to find out who He really is? Those who have found this truth no longer hope or wish, but believe. Something to think about…
A census taker walked up to a woman who was sitting on a porch. After introducing himself, he said, "How many children do you have?" The woman answered, "Four." The census taker asked, "May I have their names, please?" The woman replied, "Eenie, Meenie, Minie, and George." Confused, the census taker said, "May I ask why you named your fourth child 'George'?" "Surely, because we didn't want any Moe."
This redneck was parked behind a trailer load of pigs near the zoo in Washington, DC. As the truck drove away--one of the pigs fell out. He walked over and picked the pig up and placed it in the front seat of his truck. He was sitting there looking puzzled when a policeman walked up and asked what was going on. He told the story and the policeman recommended he take the pig to the zoo. The redneck was sitting in the same spot the next day with the pig sitting up in the front seat. The cop said "didn't I ask you to take this pig to the zoo?" The redneck replied "I did and he liked it so well--today I'm taking him to the movies!"
