Having a nice, comfortable house is a good thing, but it is the family and people inside that make it a home. A big fire place and fresh paint mean nothing if there is not love, commitment and structure among the people living there. It might as well be a museum. A nice place to visit, but… What is the condition of the, “inside” of YOUR home? Do the relationships need some minor repairs? Major renovations? Let’s face it, there are times when we all need a little internal, “home improvement.” Personal repairs start from the inside, out and act as the foundation for our own stability and happiness. Then when WE are stable and happy, we can help with the renovation of the relationships with those around us. I.E. our family. Make sense?
Summer projects are important, but they pale in comparison to the need for love and stability inside the home. Tim Taylor may have botched home repairs, but if you noticed, he was pretty good at family. Is that your priority? Want a good Home Improvement project? Take your family to church this Sunday. Something to think about…
A true story out of San Francisco… A man, wanting to rob a downtown Bank of America, walked into the branch & wrote “this iz a stikkup. Put all your muny in this bag.” While standing in line, waiting to give his note to the teller, he began to worry that someone had seen him write the note and might call the police before he reached the teller’s window. So he left the Bank of America and crossed the street to Wells Fargo. After waiting a few minutes in line, he handed his note to the Wells Fargo teller. She read it and surmising from his spelling errors that he wasn’t the brightest light in the harbor, told him that she could not accept his stickup note because it was written on a Bank of America deposit slip and that he would either have to fill out a Wells Fargo deposit slip or go back to Bank of America. Looking somewhat defeated, the man said, “OK” and left. He was arrested a few minutes later, as he was waiting in line back at Bank of America.
