The artifacts found would not have survived if they hadn’t been properly sealed and protected. On what foundation and protection do we base our lives and future? What, (or who) is the cornerstone of your life? Is there one?
The early colonists were pretty sure that the British would be coming, but not sure exactly when. All they could do is be best prepared and vigilant for when it did happen. As a result, our country began and generations, (and counting) have experienced freedom. Jesus said that He is coming back. He will come back to gather His children and He will be the eternal judge of all who have ever lived. Only those that are prepared will survive. Only those that have allowed themselves to be set free will enter God’s eternal Kingdom.
The good news is that there is still time. YOU can become sealed and protected, if you allow Christ into your heart and allow Him to be the lord and Savior, (the one who saves you from eternal death) of your life. Talking to those who were already prepared, the apostle Paul said in Ephesians 1:13, “And you also were included in Christ when you heard the message of truth, the gospel of your salvation. When you believed, you were marked in him with a seal, the promised Holy Spirit,” This same mark and seal are available to us today. You can be set free.
We are all familiar with Paul Revere’s shouting of, “The British are coming! The British are coming!” The colonists were prepared and survived. God has said, “Jesus is coming! Jesus is coming!” Are you prepared? Will you survive? Something to think about…
I apologize in advance: A man went to his dentist because he felt something wrong in his mouth. The dentist examines him and says, "That new upper plate I put in for you six months ago is eroding. What have you been eating?" The man replies, "All I can think of is that about four months ago my wife made some asparagus and put some stuff on it that was delicious. Hollandaise sauce. I loved it so much I now put it on everything, meat, toast, fish, vegetables, everything." "Well," says the dentist, "that's probably the problem. Hollandaise sauce is made with lots of lemon juice, which is highly corrosive. It's eaten away your upper plate. I'll make you a new plate, and this time use chrome." "Why chrome?" asks the patient. To which the dentist replies, "It's simple. Everyone knows that there's no plate like chrome for the hollandaise!"
