We all agree that this world has problems…”Well Duh!?!” Well that’s one of the reasons that Jesus came. Jesus says in John 16:33, “These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world.” Jesus did more than overcome the world, He overcame death and stress and those that allow Him in, can overcome also.
When we realize and accept that God is in complete control of the situations in our lives, good and bad, it is much easier to deal with. He sees the end from the beginning for each of us and knows all that we are going through. To quote a modern phrase, “He is large and in charge!” So is His peace that transcends human understanding, (see Phil. 4:7). In John 14, Jesus states, “Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you.” Just like any gift however, you have to be willing to receive it. It is no good if you don’t open the box.
Have you read or heard about the book, “Don’t sweat the small stuff…(and it’s all small stuff)? How about the phrase, “No worries”? We all have stress and problems. The only control we have is how we deal with them. Those that believe in and know Christ have The Holy Spirit in them, (that is God!). Their problems may not go away, but they know that God is MORE than capable of handling them. So…”No worries, and it’s ALL small stuff.” He has overcome the world and so can I if I let Him help me. Make a resolution that this will be your year of peace. Claim His peace and let Him bestow the inward satisfaction you seek. Let go and let God. Something to think about…
Tom had this problem of getting up late in the morning and was always late for work. His boss was mad at him and threatened to fire him if he didn't do something about it. So Tom went to his doctor who gave him a pill and told him to take it before he went to bed. Tom slept well and in fact beat the alarm in the morning by almost two hours. He had a leisurely breakfast and drove cheerfully to work. "Boss", he said, "The pill actually worked!" "That's all fine" said the boss, But where were you yesterday?"
