Marvin was born June 27, 1925 in Overton Township, Sullivan County. He was the last surviving of 10 children in the family of the late Fred and Harriet (McCarty) Driscoll.
He grew up during the depression years. He proudly served his country during WWII with the U.S. Army and was stationed in Okinawa for a year.
On July 27, 1945, he married the former Jule Day. They shared 69 wonderful years together and raised four children before her passing on Jan. 3, 2015.
In earlier years Marvin worked for GTE Sylvania in Towanda before going into the lumber business with brother-in-law, Keith McCarty. Eventually they established and operated the McCarty and Driscoll Lumber Company near Forksville for over 25 years. Marvin also enjoyed dairy farming and raising beef. Love for family always came first in Marvin’s life.
He will be lovingly remembered as a true patriarch of the Driscoll families.
