![]() Charles (Charlie) Anson McCoy, 88, died peacefully in his sleep on 15 March 2015 at the Piedmont Newnan Hospital in Newnan, GA. Charles was born in Powell, PA on 14 December, 1926 to Lloyd and Carmen McCoy. His early years were spent in Canton where he attended Canton High School. She was born to Herbert & Margaret Decker Ferris in Mt Kisco, NY, growing up there and in Bedford Hills NY. While working as a nurses aide she met a "handsome patient" who would become her husband of 61 years. Moving to Hialeah, Florida with her mother & step father she worked at St Francis Hospital on Allison Island off Miami Beach. On the morning of Saturday, March 21st, 2015, lifelong Granville Center resident Ruth Mae (Smith) Kinney McIntire passed away quietly at the Skilled Nursing Center in Towanda. She was 95 years of age. Born at her family’s Granville Center home 4:00 a.m., August 9th, 1919, she was the daughter of James Roland and Mary (Simpson) Smith. Ruth attended Granville Grammar School and Troy High School, graduating with the class of 1937. After graduation she assisted in the family owned R. J. Smith General Store in Granville Center. In October of 1940 Ruth married William (Bill) Kinney in the Granville Center Church of Christ. They enjoyed forty-eight years together.
Donna M. Matthews, 81, Rome, PA passed away March 16, 2015 at the Highlands Care Center in Laporte, PA.
Donna was born in Waverly, NY on April 20, 1933 the daughter of Leonard and Marian Park May. She was a graduate of Towanda High School class of 1951. She was formerly employed by the Bradford County Selective Service Board, the Silco store in Towanda, Dibbles Market in Wysox, Porter’s Drug Store and Rite Aid Pharmacy in Towanda and the Plaza Cleaners in Towanda. Donna enjoyed spending time with family and friends and playing cards especially canasta. ![]() William H. “Bill” Miller, 70, of Troy Heights, passed away on his birthday, March 3, 2015 at his home surrounded by his family. He was the loving husband of Nina L. (Comfort) Miller. The couple married Sept. 5, 1998 and had 15 happy years together. Family and friends are welcome to call from 9:30-11:00 am on Saturday, March 7, 2015 at the First Baptist Church of Troy, 579 Canton Street, Troy. The celebration of his life will follow the visitation at the church at 11:00 am on Saturday, March 7th with his pastor, Rev. Garry Zuber officiating. Military honors will be given by US Army Honor Guard out of Horseheads, NY and the Troy Veterans Honor Guard. The Gerald W. Mott, Sr. passed away on Monday, January 19, 2015. Born in Millerton, PA, she was the daughter of the late Cora Mae Ford Bly and Rodney William Bly. Betty graduated from Canton High School in 1943. She and Frank married in 1944. Betty was a member of the Leroy PA Church of Christ for 40 years where she was church pianist for 20 years. Retiring to Florida in 1985, she and Frank were active members of the Deltona, FL Christian Church. Betty returned to PA in 2009. Ruth (Rockwell) Manley, 93, of Troy, passed away peacefully at home, January 13, 2015.
Ruth was born September 21, 1921 in West Burlington, PA daughter of the late Joseph & Bessie (Welch) Rockwell. She was a graduate of Troy High School and married W. Edward Manley on April 20, 1940. Together they worked their family Dairy Farm on East Main Street in Troy. On the afternoon of Thursday, January 1st, 2015, Ann Louise (Gardner) (Mosier) Murray of Canton passed away quietly at Williamsport Hospital. She was 49 years of age.
Born April 2nd, 1965 in Troy, she was the daughter of Martha (Allen) Chrzan and the late William Chrzan. Ann grew up in the Troy area and attended the Troy schools. |
