This year, 2020 graduates of Canton and Troy will not be traditionally graduating due to COVID-19 restrictions. Instead, seniors from both high schools were honored in different ways.
The community has supported both schools with banners of each graduate as well as gift bags, yard signs and more.
Last Friday, May 29, Canton High School 2020 graduates were given their diplomas, while still following social distancing guidelines. A parade of cars lined the high school in support of the graduates. Graduates posed for photos with their families, either in their cars, or while receiving their diploma.
This Friday, June 5, Troy 2020 graduates will hold a parade in the same fashion as Canton at 5:30 p.m., according to the TASD website.
Editors Note: Our upcoming annual Graduation Salute will be published on June 25. It will feature both Troy and Canton 2020 graduates. Thank you to Penny Wheeler, who took the photos. Congratulations, Class of 2020!
