In my travels throughout the area I’ve seen loads of elderberry bushes in blossom. Our decades old Florabunda rose bush is in bloom right now. It was a gift from my mother and has been moved a couple of times due to different kinds of renewals going on and it seems to bloom only every other year or even three. Kinda like our apple tree – which doesn’t appear to be very “fruitful” right now. Time will tell.
The front porch and back deck projects are really coming along nicely. And, I just love the new entry doors and the storm door on the porch. They contain internal blinds that can be dimmed or completely closed. Wow! Now that’s a form of change and progress I can agree with.
Tom Hojonowski and his Canton FFA group did a chicken barbecue behind our Alba Church last Saturday and did a great job as usual. I purchased a couple extra halves and took them over to Judy and David Bristol as I wanted to give Judy a little gift I had found. It was a cute, gray ceramic elephant that was in my china closet (covered with dust) and we’re thinking of changing that “stuff” around too. So when I washed it, I noticed on the bottom was written “Happy Birthday to Lucille from Judy Bristol”. I knew then Judy should have it back. When I gave it to her she was ecstatic! I couldn’t have given her anything she would have liked more. It really made me feel good to know I’d done the right thing. They all were so good to my mom over many, many years and I will never forget it.
I heard on the radio that a rabid fox had been confirmed in Bradford County. Just what we need. Add that to the horrific scenario of hazards (and crap!) in our area!
Ron and I attended the “surprise!” 50th anniversary party for friends Carol and Steve Bastion Saturday afternoon, hosted by their daughters Corin and Stef. They were both certainly surprised! All the better for a beautiful party for a beautiful couple. Good job girls.
