Before leaving for the weekend I made sure to visit the two cemeteries to give them a big drink. But – I thought we getting rain over the weekend... I want to say how beautiful both Windfall and East Canton grounds looked. Very well groomed and pleasing to the eye. I found all our crocks doing well – even Ron’s folk’s where we’re trying to get the grass growing.
On my travel to the cemeteries and buying camping “stuff” I noticed several plots of field corn doing quite well. Most will certainly be “knee high by the 4th of July.”
With all the hoop-la that this COVID virus pandemic has caused, the Coltons can add yet another situation. Remember I told you about the tile for the new walk-in shower ordered the first of March took over two months to come from Italy. Now that we’re having a new front porch put on, and a small deck out back, our contractor is having trouble getting all the treated lumber he needs for the decking, as well as vinyl railing and lattice. So aggravating! We saw on television where this issue is a problem in several areas throughout the region. I’ve decided I just better put my big girl pants on and be patient... Remember – IT COULD BE WORSE!
On June 22, 1870, Congress created the Department of Justice. Ulysses S Grant was the sitting 18th President of the United States. He was an American soldier and politician serving from 1869 to 1877. Before his presidency, Grant led the Union Army as commanding General of the US Army in winning the American Civil War. I wonder why so many people of this great country don’t know that? Would they still be doing what they’re doing and acting like their acting? Unfortunately, probably.
On June 23, 1683, William Penn signed a peace treaty with the Native Americans of Pennsylvania. On June 25, 1962, prayer in public schools was ruled unconstitutional. Oh my – and then we say, “what goes around comes around”.
Food for thought: A little fish in a big pond has a lot of room to grow.
