The Church of Christ (Disciples of Christ) of Canton with Rev. Bonnie Browning, host minister/tour leader will be sponsoring a trip to New York City, New York to see the Statue of Liberty, Ellis Island and the World Trade Center Memorial.
The Canton Township Supervisors held their February meeting with Chairman Gary Ferguson and Supervisors Jasper Smith and Mark McMurray, Secretary Elnor Blaney and Emergency Management Coordinator Ray miller.
The minutes of the January meeting were approved. Jeff Siegel, a representative of Chosen People Ministries, will be speaking at the Sylvania Presbyterian Church, at 9:00 am and the Troy Presbyterian Church, at 11:00 am, Sunday, February 22, during the morning worship. Jeff’s topic will be “Israel, the Church and the Middle East Crisis”.

The LeRoy Township Board of Supervisors held its February meeting with Chairman Mike Miosi and Supervisors Ted Tomlinson and Jason Krise, Road Foreman Butch May and EMC Ray Miller. A special tour of the monuments and memorials in our nation’s capital is underway for March 28th during the Cherry Blossom Festival. Memorial and Monuments to visit include: World War II Memorial, Korean War Memorial, Vietnam War, Memorial, Marine Corps War Memorial, Nurses Memorial, Washington Monument, Jefferson Memorial, Lincoln Memorial and FDR Memorial.
The Troy High School Class of 1970 will be holding their 45th class reunion this summer.
A planning meeting is scheduled for February 19th at 6:00 p.m. at the Troy Vets Club. ALL THS "class of 1970" members are encouraged to attend. This is the final Missoula Children's Theatre opportunity of the season and will be at the Keystone Theatre, Towanda, February 9-14. It will also be performed by local students February 23-28 at Canton High School Auditions will be held for the Missoula Children's Theatre (MCT) production of “The Jungle Book,” Monday, February 9 in the Dunn Center for the Performing Arts at the Keystone Theatre, for those wishing to be in the Towanda performance. Leo Seachrist, Commander of American Legion Post 303, wants the public to know that as soon as the weather breaks, more Hometown Heroes banners will be hung in Canton.
He reports that quite a few banners have been delivered and more have been ordered and should be delivered soon. Also, more banners will be ordered. Repairs have been made to the truck that is used to install the banners and all other arrangements have been made as to poles, etc., and once the weather permits, the banners will be installed. |
