![]() ![]() Bill Bardo, who is pastor at the Troy and Sylvania Presbyterian Churches, has started Agape Mediation Services, a marriage and family counseling businesses. He has been a rehabilitation counselor since 1994 and has experience in marriage and family counseling, crisis intervention and working with adult survivors of child abuse. The business was developed when Mr. Bardo helped to resolve a matter involving a contentious divorcing couple. Mr. Bardo worked with them and helped them come to an amicable agreement. "Why didn't this happen six months ago?" the couple wondered, so Mr. Bardo decided to go through the training process for arbitration, and now can offer mediation services, approved by the courts. ![]() Dan & Betsy Clark of Ralston celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on June 12, 2015. They were married by Rev. Robert Nealon at St. Aloysius Church in Ralston, where they are members. Betsy is the daughter of the late Leona (Saxon) and Milton "Bip" Mansuy. She graduated from Canton High School in 1961 and the former Williamsport School of Commerce in 1963. She retired from the Canton Guthrie Clinic in 2005. Dan is the son of the late Marjorie (Phillips) and Donald Clark. He graduated from Canton High School in 1957, served in the Army for two years, and retired in 2001 from Citizens & Northern Bank in Ralston.
Incorrect Date In Earlier Announcements The Friends of the Green Free Library are getting ready for their annual book sale to be held on Thursday, Friday and Saturday July 23, 24 and 25 This year the sale will be held at the Fireman’s Hall. If you have books to donate please call Kathleen Nelsen (673-3985) or Sheila Riggs (506-5485) for pick-up, or drop them off at the Library during Library hours. Please do not leave books outside the library. The Friends accept clean fiction, non-fiction, hardcover, paperback, books-on-tape and children’s books but NOT textbooks, Reader’s Digest condensed books, encyclopedias or dictionaries. So look over your stash of books in closets, on shelves or packed away and donate them to this worthy cause! PennDOT advises motorists in Bradford County that a weight restriction has been removed from Route 514 because of upgrades made by the gas industry. The current 10-ton posting was removed on the entire length of Route 514 from the intersection of Route14 in Troy Township to the intersection of Route 414 in Franklin Township. Motorists can check conditions on more than 40,000 roadway miles by visiting www.511PA.com. 511PA, which is free and available 24 hours a day, provides traffic delay warnings, weather forecasts, traffic speed information and access to more than 770 traffic cameras. Canton Fire Department will be hosting a girls night out MOMMA MINGLE on Saturday August 15th.

Maria Padilla of Canton is a 37-year old mother of two girls, ages 2 and 9. She has been diagnosed with stage 3 invasive ductal cell carcinoma. New worship seating graces the sanctuary of the North Union Christian Church. Come and see the new pews and newly installed carpet at the dedication service on Sunday, July 5 at 2:00 p.m.
A question evoked an investigation. After a near pew vs. person mishap the inquiry was "How much would it cost for new pews?" The answer prompted Bud Mitstifer and his wife Joyce to give a generous gift. It enabled the basic purchase. Others, including the American Legion, Post 303, contributed toward the extras and the carpet. The members appreciate all the support from everyone. As was announced last week, a new program with the prospective goals for establishing an activity day at the Canton Pool is planned each Tuesday during the Summer
