Last year grants were awarded to: BCRAC/Rialto Theatre; Missoula Children's Theatre, Canton Civic Club Hallween Parade, Green Free Library, Canton Borough, Rekindle the Spirt, Inc., Canton Community Council, Inc, and Canton Area Chamber of Commerce.
The Canton Community Nursing Service/Canton Foundation has been in existence since November 1996 and since that time they have been operating as a foundation to dispense funds to non-profit groups in Canton Borough and Canton Township. The Foundation has awarded a total of over $100,000 to date.

On July 10 an open house was held at the Albavale Farms, owned by Mr. and Mrs. Mike Herman and family.
Residents were invited to come out and see the use of solar energy as the Hermans had contracted Paradise Energy Solution to place solar panels on their barns. On July 9 the Troy Summer Speaker Series honored four Community Leaders (Robert Storch, Scott Cummings, Bud Kennedy, Jerry Allen, and Bud Kennedy for contributions to the Troy Lions and the Troy Rotary and to their community.
Mindy Davison of the Summer Speaker Series Committee welcomed the audience to the Memorial Auditorium and thanked the sponsors of the Summer Speaker Series: Chesapeake Energy, 1110 West Main Street; Troy Rotary, Bradford County Regional Arts Council, Morse's Orchard, First Citizens Community Bank, and Anthony's Bar & Grill. She also thanked the other committee members, Sam Antes, Haley Fitzwater, Matt Geer, Linda Nickerson, Pat Rogers, Garry Zuber. What’s Free at the Fair
These days $7 doesn’t buy a lot in the way of entertainment lasting all day long unless that entertainment is at the Tioga County Fair. From August 10th through August 15th, for a mere $7 admission fee, one can experience a bounty of exhibits, displays and shows, from home-grown produce and hand-made crafts to livestock and music, fireworks, a hypnotist act, even women throwing axes and wielding chainsaws for the thrill of competition, all as part of the free entertainment at the Tioga County Fair. For $35, the entertainment can span all 6 days of the Fair. That’s like getting admitted to the Fair an entire day for free. And as always, parking is Free every day! The First session of swimming lessons began June 15 and had nine registered The second session of swimming lessons began July 6 and twelve have registered Adult swims have been scheduled. The French Azilum Historical Site will be hosting the 2015 Northeastern Primitive Rendezvous! For 10 days a primitive encampment will be on site with period style clothing, cooking, and demonstrations. This is a premiere Living History Event that is being made available to this area by French Azilum, Inc. and the National Rendezvous and Living History Foundation, Inc.

As the small plane flew her high above Michigan City Municipal Airport, the 90-year-old retired teacher and life-long adventurer was moments away from crossing one last thing off her bucket list — skydiving. “People were asking, ‘Are you sure you want to go?’” she recalled. “I’ve been on planes before. … What’s one more airplane?” Strapped behind Kniffin, tandem skydiving instructor Tom Newman reached forward and tapped the altimeter around her wrist. It was go time. On Sunday, July 26, 2015, from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM, The Northern Tier Christian School (TNTCS), a K-8th grade school, is hosting a Community Festival on its campus at 1292 Charlestown Road, Wellsboro, PA to raise funds toward the purchase of technology upgrades for students. Families and individuals, young and old alike should plan to attend for the day or an afternoon of summer fun.
