Chemung Canal Trust Company (CCTC) announced that, in an effort to reduce potential fraud, it will reissue all new debit cards to nearly 45,000 clients in the coming weeks. All the new cards will feature anti-fraud technology which is expected to reduce risk to the bank and its clients, and minimize the number of card re-issuances that result from data breaches which sometimes occur at local, regional or national merchants. This anti-fraud technology is commonly referred to as an EMV Chip.
The Roaring Branch Old School Reunion and Old Timers Luncheon will be held Oct. 18, beginning at 1:00 pm at the Roaring Branch United Methodist Church. Please bring a dish to pass. Cannon Memorial Chapel, on the campus of the University of Richmond in Virginia. The ceremony was officiated by the Rev. Wayne A. Warren, former minister in Alba, grandfather of the bride. Readings for the ceremony were given by Christopher Mackenzie and Jessica Smith. Vocalist Albert Neumeyer provided the ceremony music. The bride's parents hosted a seated dinner and reception at The Jefferson Hotel in Richmond. On the eve of the wedding, the groom's parents hosted a rehearsal dinner at Virginia Fine Arts Museum in Richmond. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Stephen May of Zionsville, PA. In late 2007, several people had an idea to form a singing group using all the local voices from any resident who was interested in singing and having a lot of fun together. They decided that it would be called "The Susquehanna Singers". Domestic violence—it’s not an easy subject. No one really wants to talk about it. Fear, guilt, shame, denial , low self -esteem, feeling like you’re going crazy, hurting from the constant putdowns and name calling, and maybe hurting from a black eye or bruise…you want it to work, but the tension and the stress are almost too much to endure.

The 2015 Christmas Musical Special for the Christmas Celebration Conglomeration has been announced by Ted Bown, Director, and the title is "Light Out of Darkness” created by Randy Vader, Jay Rouse, and Rose Aspinall.
The Christmas Conglomeration Celebration (A Greater Canton Area and Troy Area community musical organization) again will be sponsored by the Canton Area Ministerial Association. The anticipated 100-voice choral group also will be featuring possible soloists, duets, trios, and ensembles. A children’s choir (grades 1 to 6) will be added later in the rehearsal schedule.
