Last year grants were awarded to: BCRAC/Rialto Theatre; Missoula Children's Theatre, Canton Civic Club Hallween Parade, Green Free Library, Canton Borough, Rekindle the Spirt, Inc., Canton Community Council, Inc, and Canton Area Chamber of Commerce.
Past recipients include BCRAC Rialto Theatre, Canton High school Lighting Project (football lights), the Green Free Library, Morse Park Centennial Committee, Canton Police Department, Canton Community Center, Endless Mountains Pregnancy Care Center, Canton Ambulance Association, Son-Shine Christian School, Save the Pool, Canton Recreation Association, Friends of the Green Free Library, the Shade Tree Commission, Canton Borough, Rekindle the Spirit, Chamber of Commerce and Canton Civic Club.
Applications are being accepted with the following criteria:
The organization shall be a non-profit entity; must show and justify need; must submit a copy of their yearly operating budget with the request or it will not be considered;
Within one year of receiving the grant, recipients are required to submit to the Foundation proof of all purchases made with grant money.
Applications for the grants may be submitted only once each year from August 15 through September 30 and the directors of the Foundation will render a decision as to possible funding of requests within 30 days of the September 30 deadline.
Grant forms may be obtained at the Canton Independent-Sentinel office, 10 West Main Street, Canton; or the First Citizens Community Bank, 29 West Main Street, Canton.
