Carlene Austin went through her surgery well and is doing good.

On Sunday, July 26, the Smith family plans to re-enact the 200th year arrival of the family to the area, which became Big Pond. We will be starting at 2 p.m. at East Smithfield Country Market in a horse-drawn covered wagon, taking the Berwick Turnpike to Big Pond Road and traveling through Big Pond and turning onto the Little York Road to the area of Strobridge Hill Road, where the Smith farm was established. We welcome visitors that would like to watch us travel by. Please bring your lawn chair and park in Sandra Smith’s back yard and sit in the shade in the front yard. Sandra Smith’s house is on Big Pond Road and North Lake Road.
July 30, 31 and Aug. 1 is the East Smithfield Country Mart’s 20th anniversary.
Aug. 1 and 2 there will be a Civil War encampment at French Asylum. Come enjoy some history. Have a good week.
