The Policy Council (comprised of Head Start and Early Head Start parents and Community Representatives met; the annual meeting was held, and the regular monthly Board meeting took place. The Board of Directors were offered the opportunity to observe Policy Council and lunch was provided for both groups. Bill McGaughlin from North Penn Legal Services, provided a training to Family Advocates and Family Partners while the parents were in their meetings.
At the Meeting, the Board re-elected Board members to another two-year term: PJ Barnes, past Head Start parent; Desiree Rockwell, Director for Nurse Family Partnership Program; Sam Rotella, Interim STSD Superintendent; Joann Ogden, past North Penn Comprehensive Health Services and Laurel Health System Board member; Gene Yajko, retired VP of Human Resources for Laurel Health System; Samantha Wilcox, Esquire.
The BTHS Inc. Board also elected the following chairpersons and officers: Desiree Rockwell, chairperson; PJ Barnes, vice chairperson; Jody Thomas, President/Chief Executive Officer; Wendy Swingle, Executive Vice President; Sam Rotella, Secretary Amy Smith, Assistant Secretary; and Ronald Gilbert, Treasurer.
Bradford-Tioga Head Start, Inc. is a program which offers state and federally funded programs for pregnant mothers, families and their children, newborn up to the age of 5; this includes Early Head Start, Head Start, and Pre-K Counts services.
