Psalm 103:1, 2 …Bless the LORD, O my soul, and all that is within me, bless his holy name! Bless the LORD, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits…
If you happen to pass through Canton on a Sunday evening you may notice some brightly colored A-Frame construction type signs near Center or Union street displaying “BLG 103”. In case you’re wondering, this is pointing to 103 N. Center St.—the current downtown Canton meeting place of Faith Mountain Fellowship. Affectionately known as “Building 103” it is a place of Building the church (Kingdom of God, Body of Christ) with emphasis first on Love and Grace, and next on Building a Legacy in the emerging Generation—BLG 103.
In an article several weeks ago we made it known to the general public that the congregation of Faith Mountain Fellowship of Wheelerville has re-located its primary residency to downtown Canton. Pastor Jerry Schmidt and the gracious Ecumenical Church congregation have offered the lower level of their facility @ 103 N. Center St. as a temporary Canton home. We are now enjoying the new “cool” atmosphere—both figuratively and literally—as the dog days of summer have come upon us.
Meeting in the evening is proving to be a pretty cool experience as well. Not only does this allow opportunity for folks with Sunday morning commitments to see what God is up to in the evening @ Building 103, it also allows our church family opportunity on Sunday mornings to see what the Lord is up to elsewhere in the Body of Christ. We’re expecting that this will be a very healthy happening for the greater church in our area. Our family recently spent a year at Bethel Church in Northern California which, among many things, instilled in us just how powerful and effective unity in the midst of diversity can be.
Building 103 is a location, but it is also an action verb-- We are about Building Lives, Restoring Hope, Reinforcing Honor, Establishing Identity, Forming Faith, Securing Destiny, Raising up a Generation, Reviving Dreams and Visions, Strengthening Marriages and Families, Developing leaders…
“On the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Christ Jesus himself being the cornerstone, in whom the whole structure, being joined together, grows into a holy temple in the Lord. In him you also are being built together into a dwelling place for God by the Spirit.” Eph 2:20-22
You are invited into “the Construction Zone” @ Building 103 Sunday evenings 6:00 pm. @ 103 N. Center St. Canton, lower level.
Sincerely, Mike Gaiotti
