The Pool opened at noon on Saturday, June 6.
Manager is Kari Koval and Head Lifeguard is Toree Baxter
Regular Lifeguards are Emma Boyd, Morgan Burgess, Elizabeth Tymeson, Gabrielle Tymeson, Madison Thoren and Dominique Comereski
Substitute Lifeguards are Abigail Martin, Katie Henson, Whitney Bailey, Brittany LaMont, Matthew Berryman and Zachary Schrader.
Mackayla Wesneski, who had been hired as a substitute, found other employment.
Daily pass rates are: Adult and Students, $4; Pre-school (4 and under), $2; Non-Swimmers, $1; Night Swim, $2.
Season pass rates, $150, family of four, plus $15 for each person over four; Individual pass, $95; Day Care/Group, $200 (adequate supervision required).
Season passes purchased prior to June 20 will be discounted $20.
Lesson prices are $40. Lessons will begin June 15 and will be given Monday through Friday from 10:30 to 11:30 and 4:30 to 5:30.
Open swimming hours will be Monday through Friday, 12 to 4 and 6 to 8; Saturdays 12 to 6 and Sundays, 12 to 4.
Some promotions for night swims are being considered, with perhaps a DJ night.
Ice cream novelties have been added to the concession stand; The committee is looking for “healthy” but cost effective juices
As of June 16 - six individual season passes and twenty-nine family season passes have been sold
First Citizens Community Bank purchased four daily student/adult passes as prizes for their Customer Appreciation Day
Canton American Legion Post #303 donated $740 to the pool and purchased two family season passes
A resident donated back a family season pass she won at the From our Farms to Your Arms program at the school. This will be provided to a family in need
Extra items purchased for pool this year include new furniture and umbrellas; playground balls; volleyball net with volleyball and badminton; tennis rackets and tennis balls; wiffle bats and balls
The Inside of front doors and rules board were painted with chalkboard paint to make rules, etc. more FUN!
The Pavilion was been rented on May 17 for a Birthday party; on May 25 for Home Town Heroes; on June 4 for 6th Grade Picnic; June 12, Stepping Stones Child Care Preschool Graduation; June 20, Class of 2000 Reunion ( with a 2-hour private rental of pool); June 22-26, Child Evangelism Fellowship Bible School Day Camp; June 29, Tioga/Bradford Housing Authority Canton Family Field Days; August 8, Canton Ministerial Picnic;
Every Tuesday, beginning with June 30, Rebecca Hamilton will offer youth programs at the pavilion.
The Canton Area Chamber of Commerce will sponsor a Community Saturday, with date and possible program to be determined. Other groups interested in sponsoring a "Community Free Swim Saturday" should contact the Borough Office.
