Canton Borough - The Shade Tree Commission held a clean up at Morse Park; Sullivan and Chestnut streets are to be paved; and opening day for the pool is June 6.
Passion Life Wellness plans a "huge announcement" next month. Owner Raychel Boggs said "things are going great" and she thanked the community for its support.
Wiggle Radio will have a Summer Grilling Giveaway.
There was a great turnout at the Rialto Theatre for the Joe Cavallaro Dixieland Jazz Band Concert. Manager Kelsey Dowling said the theatre will be hiring. Applications are available at the theatre.
Rekindle The Spirit will be the site of two big weddings, and the Garden Club has the grounds "looking beautiful" there.
Warrior Lounge has repainted and done other interior work and added new bathrooms.
First Citizens Community Bank will be honoring Katie Brown on her retirement with cake and punch on May 15. Customer Appreciation Day will be held in June.
The Tioga-Bradford Housing Authority has a wait list for its apartments. Another safety event is planned for the pavilion at the pool.
Stull's Flowers had prepared for Mother's Day
Oscar's Flooring always has sales and specials. The Chamber Mixer will be May 12 at 1110 W. Main in Troy.
Schoonover's urged customers to have their air conditioners services.
The secretary and treasurer reports were approved.
Ninety-two members have enrolled in the Chamber this year, despite an increase in the fee schedule. A report on the effect of the fee schedule changes will be provided at the next meeting.
Breanna Allen has been working on a chamber brochure and a draft has been given to Mr. Schoonover for editing.
The Chamber website has been updated.
The Chamber's 2015 promotional item, a 30 oz. pitcher, has been delivered and is available for sale at the Independent-Sentinel office. Members voted to allow the manufacturer to use the pitcher as a sample.
Mr. Schoonover is a member of the Bradford County Tourism and Promotion Agency. He said interviews will be held for the top three candidates for executive director. The county is undertaking a marketing effort. No changes will be made in the grant program that had been in effect when the Endless Mountains Visitors Bureau was the tourist promotion agency.
The Wine & Cheese Festival, co-sponsored by the Chamber and Rekindle, will be June 27 at the Manley-Bohlayer Heritage Farm. There are 31 vendors, 10 wineries and one more expected, two cheese vendors, two food vendors and seventeen crafters.
The Farmer's Market has been going very well. It is open each Saturday ftom 8 am to noon in the Main Street Park.
The Block Dance, with music by the McNett Country Band, will be June 13 in the Main Square. This is sponsored by the Chamber and no admission is charged.
The Chamber Car Show will be August 7.
The Chamber now can accept credit card payments through the website.
The Animal Care Sanctuary Mutt Strut will be May 16.
Permission was granted to the Green Free library to use the Main Street Park on July 29 for its "Hero Fair," honoring police, firefighters, doctors, emergency responders, etc. This will be a follow-up to the Summer Reading Program.
BTG has offered to host a social media training event.
Next month, Real Professional Solutions will give an update on the Chamber's taxes.
Penn Wisp Systems will be offering "fixed wireless" internet service in Canton Borough.
