After a prayer filled with gratitude for our meal and fellowship time to God, Will Strunk led everyone in singing “In the Garden” prior to his message. He called each of those present to consider the following, “Where is your focus this Holy Week?”
Holy Week is the most important week of our faith and it is a time for each individual to refocus our relationship with God. The people on the first Palm Sunday were waiting for Jesus as he was already creating a difference in their lives. Hope was restored to their lives Do we expect to meet Jesus in our daily lives as the people of the first Palm Sunday? Do we expect to meet him in prayer or even when we attend church?
Each of us need to worship, not just for good health. In our worship, we are able to meet the king as he comes alongside us and walks with us. As we worship through Holy Week, we experience the pain and unto the victory of the resurrection, we come into the presence of God.
Each Lenten Lunch is free of charge, with donations accepted for the meal. All donations received benefit the Canton Food Pantry and Heifer International.
Thank you to all who attended this year’s luncheons and especially to the churches who provided lunch. The minister’s of the ministerial association look forward to seeing everyone again this week at the Prayer Walk and Community Good Friday Service.
