This year we will have two opinions in choosing the winners of the Fine Art division. Connie Sickler of Sylvania, PA is one of the Fine Art judges. She is well known in the area for her beautiful and detailed paintings. Connie has a BA in Studio Art, 1986 and a Master’s Degree in Art Education, 1989 from Mansfield University. She taught art education in the Troy, PA schools until 2001 when she opened her gallery in the Settlement House. Connie’s paintings are shown in galleries from North Carolina to PA. Prints of her works can be found in collections around the world.

There was a total loss of 7 pounds. Jim B. was the top TOPS. He also won received the fruit basket. Barb won the menu game. This Is Your Week winner was Jim. Runner up was Barb. The No-no food for the week is cookies. Yes-Yes, is fruit. Challenge is to walk. The Three X's were drawn by Jim, Joyce, and Claudette. Department 13 Vegetable –Herb competition for the Troy Fair will register exhibits from 9am to 5pm on Saturday, July 25th. Exhibitors should enter the Fairgrounds at Gate 3. The Exhibit building is first to the left of the ticket booth. Judging begins at 6 pm.
Dept. 23 Honey-Maple will register exhibits from 9 am until 3 pm. Judging begins at 5 pm. The exhibits will remain until Sunday, August 2, 9-2 pm when exhibitors come to collect their ribbons, prize money, and congratulations. Houghton College has honored Olivia Morse of Troy, who has shown academic excellence by being named to the Dean's Honor List for the spring 2015 semester. Olivia is currently a sophomore majoring in Biology. To achieve this honor, a student must maintain full time status and earn a GPA of 3.75 or higher for the semester. |
