Clarence and Barbara Stone, now of Enola, PA, were married July 16, 1965 at Ogdensburg Church of Christ. Pastor Duane Taylor officiated the ceremony.
Barbara Joy Kennedy was born in Troy to Harold and Jean Kennedy. Clarence "Butt" Stone was born in Canton, to Francis and Laura Stone of Ogdensburg. They have two children: Marcellyn Stone, Lusby, MD and Rodney Stone and wife Virginia and daughter Delaney, who is the couple's granddaughter, of Enola The couple will celebrate their 50th anniversary with their family at The Rainbow Room in Niagara Falls, Canada. An exhibit of art works by Canton artist Lisa Darrow will be staged at the "State of the Art" Gallery, 1109 W. Main Street in Troy, during the month of July. The public is encouraged to take this opportunity to enjoy Ms. Darrow's paintings. Two of her floral paintings have been accepted by the Pennsylvania Watercolor Society. ![]() The Summer Speaker Series would like to invite you to join us on July 9th for our first annual Community Leaders Celebration. We are lucky to live in such an active community where leaders can be found making an impact for others each and every day in our fire departments, classrooms, churches, businesses, charities and organizations. 10:00 AM Draft Horse Show-Rainbow Riders Ring (Gate 3) 7:00 PM Ribbon Cutting-Introduction of Dignitaries-Star Spangled Banner Fair Queen Pageant with Master of Ceremonies-Shane Wilber Free Evening Troy Borough Council met on June 25 with Vice-President Jen Malehorn conducting the meeting. Councilors present were Kyle Wisel, Mark Colton, Jason Hodlofski and Veronica Seymour, along with Mayor Mike Powers, Manager Dan Close and Police Chief Dan Morelli.
The minutes of the previous meeting were approved. Council voted to approve payment of $56,250.62 in paid bills and $9,246.98 in unpaid bills; as well as $2,145 in unpaid highway aid bills. The Fine Arts Council of Troy met at the Zander Gallery in Alparon Park, Troy, PA on Tuesday, June 9. Theresa McKerrow chaired the meeting.
It was decided to hold the annual club picnic on August 11 at the Zander Gallery. Members are encouraged to come with a dish to pass and painting materials for some plein aire work after the meal. Because only a few members were able to attend, plans for the Douglas Heavlow Scholarship were tabled until more people could be present. The Troy Thursday Study Club met on June 18th at “Woodburn” on Armenia Mountain, the family summer home of Abby Potter Werlock where Abby and her sisters, Jennifer and Dewey, presented a history of their ancestors and the home. The home is jointly owned, maintained, and loved by the family; Abby (Potter) Werlock, her siblings, Tim, Jennifer, Dewey, Amy, and Meg, and cousins, Ward and Tony.
