The Oldroyd Brass Quintet is coming to Troy on Saturday April 11th to present a concert at the First Presbyterian Church of Troy at 7PM. The Quintet will be performing master works of the brass quintet ranging from classical to Latin and Dixieland. The concert will be FREE, but donations will be accepted to benefit the town band. Sponsors for the concert include The Troy Rotary Club, The Troy Town Band and a Generous Patron of Performing Arts in the Troy Area.
Troy TOPS #986 met on March 16th at the Troy Vets Club with thirteen members and one guest weighing in. Total loss was 9 3/4 pounds: 8 1/2 for TOPS and 1 1/4 for KOPS. There were 3 turtles.

Runner up was Lacey with a two pound loss. ![]() At the Feb. 11 meeting of the Endless Mountains Heritage Region (EMHR), the executive director provided a progress report for the 2015 Project Review Committee. Two EMHR staff members and four board members worked to select projects for inclusion in the EMHR Round 21 DCNR partnership. It is estimated that approximately $70,000 will be allocated to the region by DCNR , which will in turn be disbursed by EMHR to grant applicants. If expected funding is approved by DCNR, Laceyville's Oldest House stands to be the big winner in 2016 of upwards to $30,000 for rehabilitation and stabilization of the centuries old structure. Previously, EMHR helped with funding to provide a new roof for The Oldest House, an interpretive and education site at the western end of Wyoming County. ![]() The Heritage Garden Club of Troy met on Monday, March 2 at the Baptist Church. Ten members were in attendance. President Barb Andrus opened the meeting by leading the club in the Pledge of Allegiance. A wide range of plans were discussed for the up-coming year. Gail McMahon demonstrated how to make the intricate snowflakes that will be used to decorate the State of the Art exhibit at the State Farm Insurance building in Troy. McMahon is chair of the event which will be held in December. Member Carol Ulmer displayed some of the beautiful snowflakes she had made and commented on how fun they were to make. Mary Alice displayed a pretty little bird ornament she had made from a milkweed pod. The Troy High School Class of 1995 wants all classmates to be involved in the planning of the 20th class reunion for Summer 2015.

The new sporting goods store features a wide variety of rifles, hand guns, and all the accessories, plus they carry batteries, turkey calls, scopes, targets, sweatshirts, ammo, magazines, in other words it is a "one stop shop" for all your hunting and sports shooting needs. They are FFL and Certified Glock Armorer dealers, along with Magpul and Rothco dealers. In the future they are expanding to include camping materials, and fishing gear. They will buy, trade, or sell and if they don't have it, they will special order your item. Being very community minded, they welcome all to come and check them out. The deadline for submitting applications for the First Citizens Community Bank MU Scholarships and the Ag Scholarship is March 15, 2015.
First Citizens will award two $1,000 scholarships to the Mansfield University Foundation, who will administer the scholarship selection and awards. All members of the greater Canton area are encouraged to come to the Rialto Theater at noon on March 14 to attend a meeting concerning the closing of Arnot Health's Canton facility.
Attendees will be given the opportunity to speak about the impact of the closing on the community, the medical staffing and of patient needs. In addition, anyone can address the audience with stories of the care that they received over Dr. Kirkowski's 40 years of service.
