It happened around 2 p.m. in Granville Township, Bradford County, near Troy.
“A total of four people were struck, two of which passed away from injuries,” said Bradford County Coroner Tom Carman.
The four were standing in an open field under a wooden tree stand when they were struck, according to the coroner.
The victims were not immediately identified, the coroner said.
The two surviving victims were taken by ambulance to Robert Packer Hospital in Sayre. Their conditions were not immediately known.
The two dead are males who the coroner said lived in southern Pennsylvania.
