Again this year, Sounds by Shane will provide a mix of music, including Halloween, starting ½ hour prior to the Halloween parade and will continue ½ hour after the parade from the Chamber’s Main Street Park. Shane will also MC the parade from the Park.
Floats will be judged at 4:30 p.m. behind the High School. Please have floats behind the school at 4 p.m. to begin lining up for judging. There will be a novelty category to include items that are not floats (ie: 4 wheelers, golf carts, etc.) Antique cars are welcome, but will not be judged unless decorated.
Costumes and novelties will be judged at 4:30 p.m. at the Church of Christ parking lot at the corner of East Union Street and North Minnequa Avenue.
To be included in the judging all entrants must be prompt as the judging will start promptly at 4:30 p.m.
Pets and animals are only permitted if insurance coverage is provided ahead of time listing the Chamber of Commerce as an additional insured.
Donations are needed for parade expenses. Please send them to Kim Bailey, Chemung Canal Bank, 5 West Main Street, Canton or Amy Seeley, Canton Borough, PO Box 174, Canton. Expenses include ribbon prizes, candy, donation to the marching band, etc.
The Canton Annual Civic Halloween Parade is in need of judges for costumes. Judging of costumes is scheduled for 4:30 p.m. at the Church of Christ parking lot at the corner of East Union Street and North Minnequa Avenue. Judges are asked to report between 4:15 p.m. and 4:25 p.m.
