This year we will have two opinions in choosing the winners of the Fine Art division. Connie Sickler of Sylvania, PA is one of the Fine Art judges. She is well known in the area for her beautiful and detailed paintings. Connie has a BA in Studio Art, 1986 and a Master’s Degree in Art Education, 1989 from Mansfield University. She taught art education in the Troy, PA schools until 2001 when she opened her gallery in the Settlement House. Connie’s paintings are shown in galleries from North Carolina to PA. Prints of her works can be found in collections around the world.
The 2015 Phtography Judge will be Rob Colley of Williamsport PA. Rob is the 4th generation of his family to be in the photography business. He describes photography as his passion.
Rob has been involved with photography all his life, and especially since 1976. Rob won awards as early as High School in his hometown of Williamsport and was selected to represent his school in Harrisburg for Outstanding High School Photographers. In addition to operating Hoyer Photography, Rob also has a portrait business and does photography for Lycoming College. For generations, the Hoyer Photography store was located at 18 W. Fourth St. in Williamsport. When the family store closed, Rob opened his new store at 45 Washington Boulevard in Williamsport, PA. The new store is called Hoyer’s, keeping with the family name.
Rob is very interested in new developments in the world of photography and likes trying new techniques and new equipment. Rob does retouching work on old photos as well as selling new and used cameras and equipment. One of his favorite things to do is helping people with their questions or problems with cameras or photography.
Rob will be bringing two associates with him to judge the PA Apple & Cheese show this year. Both are students with degrees from the Antonelli Institute of Photography.
The coordinators of the show are honored to have all these wonderfully talented people judging this year’s show and look forward to the wonderfully talented artists and photographers who will enter work.
