Her resignation was prompted by her recent appointment as Bradford County Auditor, a position potentially incompatible with membership on Borough Council:
May 2, 2015
It is with deep regret that I am announcing my resignation from the Troy Borough Council effective immediately. It has been my absolute pleasure to serve on Borough Council since 2009 and as President of Council from 2014 to the present.
Prior to my appointment to the position of County Auditor I received a written determination from the County Solicitor stating that my being on Council was not a conflict of interest with the position of County Auditor, according to County Code. After a more thorough review of the County Code it has been determined that a conflict could exist depending on the interpretation of a different section of the Code than was originally reviewed. To avoid any question of my integrity or my motives, I have decided to eliminate the perception of a possible conflict by offering my resignation from Council.
I can’t express to you all enough how much I have enjoyed my time on Council and the time I’ve spent working with the Borough Manager, the Mayor, the Police Department, the Borough Secretary, the Street Crew, and all of the Council People I’ve served with over the years. This phase of my life has sparked my passion for public service and a commitment to the constituents I serve.
Thank you all for your continued dedication to our community.
Respectfully Submitted,
Krystle Bristol
