Lt. Col. Hipple is the director or operations for the 59th Training Squadron (TRS) and the course director, Nurse Transition Program (NTP).
As the largest medical training platform in the Air Force (AF), the 59 TRS educates and trains officers and enlisted members in 28 different AF specialty areas including Physician Graduate Medical Education, nursing, and allied health career fields. The 59 TRS graduates an average of 550 personnel yearly with daily student populations of 250.
As the NTP Course Director she leads and directs a 360-hour formal course at the only military treatment facility out of four course training sites. This facilitates the integration of 25% of novice civilian nurses with less than one year of nursing experience into the role of AF nursing through a 10-week program that produces clinically proficient, mission-ready, and combat-capable officers.
Lieutenant Col. Hipple was born in Canton to Alexander and Sheila Chagnon Jr., and has been married to Willard A.A. Hipple, Sr, Canton, for 33 years. They have four children Willard A.A. Hipple, Jr. married to Stephanie A. Hipple; Howard A. Hipple, married to Jennifer A. Hipple; Lela I. Newsome married to Eric C. Newsome, Jr.; and Jeremiah A. Hipple; as well as nine grandchildren.
Lt. Col. Hipple graduated from Mansfield University with a Bachelor of Science degree; went to Officer Training School, Maxwell AFB, AL; Accelerate Basic Obstetrical Nurse Course, Keesler AFB, MS; Nursing Service Fundamentals, Air University, Maxwell AFB, AL; Company Grade Officer Professional Development Course, F.E. Warren AFB, WY; Squadron Officer School (Corres.), Air University, Maxwell AFB, AL; Master of Science in Community Health Administration and Wellness Promotion, California College of Health Sciences (Corres.-dual degree);
Nursing Service Management Course, Sheppard AFB, TX; Master Certificate in Forensic Nursing, Kaplan University, Tampa, FL; Air Command Staff College (Corres.) Air University, Maxwell AFB, AL; Air Force Personnel Center Nursing Utilization Fellow., Randolph AFB, TX; Basic Instructor Course, Lackland AFB, TX.
Presently she is enrolled in the Doctor of Philosophy in General Philosophy with an Emphasis in Cognition and Instruction, Grand Canyon University, Phoenix, AZ and enrolled in Air War College, Air University, Maxwell AFB, Al.
With her many assignments both in and out of the country she has earned the following decorations: Air Force Meritorious Service Medal, with one Oak Leaf Cluster; Air Force Commendation Medal, with one Oak Leaf Cluster; Air Force Achievement Medal; National Defense Service Medal; Nuclear Deterrence Operations Service Medal; and the Global War on Terrorism Service Medal.
She has been named the AFMC Maternal/Child Nurse of Year, 2009; AFMC Maternal/Newborn Nurse of Year, 2006; and PACAF C.J. Reddy Leadership Award, 2005.

After the departure of the Official Party a reception was held.
