There were 38 family members present, and four guests. Nine of the eleven children of Paul and Emma were present. Paulie and Linda had the most family members attending, fourteen. Paul, the patriarch, was able to attend, and brought a guest from Twin Oaks with him, Barb Simcoe.
President Kim Kendall welcomed everyone warmly. It was noted that Paul has a total of 94 blood descendants: 11 children, 31 grandchildren, 48 great grandchildren, and four great-great grandchildren. A round of applause for Paul and also for Emma, dear, late mother and grandmother, and wife of Paul.
Pictures were passed out of Paul's grandfather, Alfred Machmer, Paul's parents, Fred and Mabel Machmer, when they were young, and Paul and his brother, Harold, when they were young.
The minutes of the last reunion were read and approved. It was decided to keep the same officers:
President, Kim Machmer Kendal; Vice President, Betsy Machmer Smith; Secretary-Treasurer, Julie Machmer Parker.
There was old business. It was noted that Penny Renstrom, their cousin, had has a disheartening doctor's report and all were encouraged to visit her.
No deaths were reported. They are thankful for that.
Births: four so far this year: Micah William to Corey and Cara Smith on September 13, 2014. He weighed eight pounds, six ounces, and was 20 inches long
Landon Jay to Jansie and Jake Villanueva on April 9, 2015. He weighed six pounds, eight ounces, and was 18 1/2 inches long (Sentara Leigh Hospital).
Laila LeeAnn to Nick Parker and Logan Ward on June 27, 2015. She weighed six pounds nine ounces and was 19 inches long (Williamsport Hospital).
Logan Thomas to Deryl and Melissa Machmer on July 27, 2015. He weighed eight pounds and four ounces and was 21 1/2 inches long.
Graduations: Trevor and Tucker Route from Canton High School. Emma Machmer from Canton Elementary School (6th grade).
The reunion book was passed around for everyone to sign. Alan Kendall offered a nice blessing for the bountiful meal, which everyone enjoyed.
Grab bag prizes were available to the children.
This year, several tables and chairs were set up outside to help seat everyone. This made for more comfortable accommodations. A day of fun and sharing was had by the family.
