On Friday, August 7th the Canton Area Chamber of Commerce will sponsor its annual "Canton's Classic Car Show" from 6 pm to 8 pm. The event will be held in Main Street Park, Canton with cars parked in the rear parking lot of Chemung Canal Trust & Main Street Park.
There were eight vendors at the Canton Farmers' Market on August 1st. It was a clear, sunny day.
John Carpenter had his Piatt Road Honey; the Zimmerman farm was selling garden produce; Marlene Boyce had blueberries; the ladies from Country Delights were selling bread, pies and baked goods; The Beidler family had blueberries and garden produce; During the week of 13 July several boys from Troop 33 attended Summer Camp at Camp Brule. The Scouts earned Merit Badges such as Indian Lore, Canoeing, Rifle Shooting, Swimming, Archery, Environmental Science. Several Scouts earned their Firem’n Chit and Totin Chip cards,
The Canton Garden Club will meet at 1 pm on August 11 at Judy Wilcox's home in Canton. We exchange gardening tips and ideas, laugh and enjoy exploring gardening plans.
Shoemaker Reunion
On August 9th at 1:00, the descendants of Charles and Blanch (Welch) Shoemaker will meet at Joey and Ellen Foust’s cottage at Big Pond. Meat and beverage furnished – bring a dish to pass and own table service. For directions to cottage call the Fousts at 673-8304. Ayres Reunion The annual Ayres Reunion Beech Flats Grange will meet at the Grange Hall on Thursday, August 13 at 2 pm. The meeting will be held downstairs. Bring finger food for refreshments.
Canton Women of the Moose Chapter 981 will meet on August 10. Board of Officers at 6:30. Regular meeting to follow at 7:00
