There was a total loss of 4 1/2 pounds all for TOPS. Top TOP loser was Diana with 1 1/2 pounds lost. Top KOPS were Betty and Marilyn who turtled. The fruit basket was shared by Betty, Marilyn, and Mary Lou. This Is Your Week winner was Mary Lou. The Three X's were drawn by Diana, Linda, and Jeannie. Glen T. Reese Jr., Columbia Cross Roads was one of 309 graduates to receive a diploma at the Spring Commencement of The University of Pittsburgh at Bradford. He received an Associate of Science degree in petroleum technology Recently Troy TOPS #986 collected food from members which they donated to the Troy Food Pantry. The club had a net loss of 67 pounds for the year, so they decided to donate that much in weight of food. The sixty-seven pounds of food were donated to the food pantry. Pictured above are half the membership of the group who participated. It was greatly appreciated. There's still time to pre-register your children for this summer's VBS at Mt. Pisgah Wesleyan Church. This year's program, Weird Animals VBS, runs from 6:30 to 8:30 pm each night from July 6 to 10.
At Weird Animals VBS, kids will learn about some of God’s most creative creations! They’ll participate in memorable Bible-learning activities, sing catchy songs, play teamwork-building games, make and dig into yummy treats, experience cool Bible adventures, collect Bible Memory Buddies to remind them they are one of a kind, and test out Sciency-Fun Gizmos they’ll take home and play with all summer long. EMHR board president Sandy Wilmot (left) and executive director Annette Schultz toured the Troy Sale Barn recently after a meeting held in the main hall. EMHR has tentatively approved an $8,000 grant to aid in the rehabilitation of the structure for use as a community center and agricultural and historic site. The building in Troy borough will also serve as the venue for two Taste of the Endless Mountains events this year. Troy TOPS # 986 met on June 22 at the Troy Vets Club with 15 members weighing in. There was a total loss of 10 pounds for TOPS with a 1 3/4 loss for KOPS.

Mr. and Mrs. LaRue Ostrander, Burlington, PA announce the engagement of their daughter, Alleshia Ostrander to Curtis Baumunk, son of Cinda Baumunk, Troy, PA and Chris Baumunk, Spencer, NY. Alleshia is a 2006 graduate of Troy High School and Northern Tier Career Center, a licensed cosmetologist and is employed by Looks Hair Design in downtown State College. Curtis is a 2004 graduate of Troy High School, served four years in the United States Navy, is attending Penn State University and currently completing an internship with Chevron in Houston, TX. A fall 2016 wedding is being planned, when two hearts become one. Nine members of the Village Improvement Association met at McCallum Manor for their annual picnic and meeting, June 4th. After the invocation offered by Kathy Lepper, the members enjoyed the meal before President Marie O'Hara opened the business meeting. The Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag and the recitation of the Association's Collect started the meeting. The minutes of the last meeting and the treasurer's reports were given and approved. The Canton Fireman's Fair will be held nightly from Tuesday July 7th through Saturday July 11th. As last year, admission will be a donation at the gate. Ride tickets and wristbands will be available for purchase. Tuesday will be $1.00 Ride Night. The Midway opens at 6:00 each night, and there will be nightly entertainment at 7:00, as follows - Tuesday - Gary & The Bandits Wed. - McNett Country Band Thursday - Raven Creek Friday - Tribute to Elvis Saturday - Jubal |
