"The "REDEEMED" Group is very well known for their singing, humor, and harmonizing abilities. They sing Southern Gospel and are from the Williamsport and New Albany area. They have been together for 22 years.The group sings many Southern Gospel favorites as well as some traditional church songs. They have recorded several albums and sung in concerts with many other well known Gospel Groups. They are working on a new recording. They sing a message of love and encouragement that is brought to you in song. The Group consist of Keith Woodcock, Gene Bixby, Jim Barrett, and Monty Hornberger.
Jim had the opportunity to work overseas for seven years and has been back for over a year. He retired from the Federal Prison System. Now he and his wife love doing upholstery work. Jim is singing the baritone part. Keith Woodcock is from the Montourvilles Area and he sings bass/baritone. He is a computer specialist at the Construction Specialties in Montgomery. He loves to tinker with Classic Cars. Keith and his wife Pat have one daughter. He played the piano many years for the Gilbert family before joining REDEEMED. Gene Bixby is from New Albany and he is a retired school teacher. He is the lead singer and started with the Group in 2003. Gene and Connie have two daughters, two grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren. He enjoys everyday living and keeps very busy with his grandchildren. Monty Hornberger is from Hughsville and sings tenor for the group. He has been in the group for over 20 years. He retired from the East Lycoming School District. Monty and Sandy have two children and a new grandson. Monty loves OLD tractors and cars. He seems to like many other things and his wife doesn't know what is coming next. Monty is the person that you contact for the group.
Faith Jaynes is the organist, Carol O'Brien is the pianist, and Rev. Bob Martin is the speaker. Come and join us for an evening of worshipping Christ through music.
The church is located in Standing Stone. At Routes #187/#6 intersection in Wysox, take Route #6 EAST towards Wyalusing. Go 2.4 miles and take a RIGHT on River Road (down along the Susquehanna River). The church is 2 miles on the LEFT. If you are coming WEST on Route #6 from the Wyalusing Area, in Rummerfield you will make a LEFT hand turn on River Road and the church is approximately 2.7 miles on the RIGHT.
