The Bradford County Dairy Promotion Board is seeking candidates to serve as the 2015-2016 Bradford County Dairy Princess, Alternates, Ambassadors, Dairy Maids and Misses. All single young women from a dairy background or with an interest in the dairy industry should consider running.
The Dairy Princess will be selected on Saturday evening May 23rd, 2015 at the Towanda High School Auditorium.
This year’s winner will serve the dairy industry of Bradford County for one year. She will make many appearances at schools, malls, grocery stores and have the opportunity to speak to civic clubs, senior citizens groups, farm and non farm audiences and to appear on television and radio. In addition, she will represent the dairy industry in parades and at fairs and will represent Bradford County at the Pennsylvania Dairy Princess Pageant in Camp Hill in September.
Any single woman between 16-24 years of age, never married, who is the daughter, granddaughter, niece, or sister to a dairy farmer, farm manager or herdsman or someone employed in a dairy related field. A young woman is also eligible if she herself is employed as above or is the owner of one head of dairy cattle in a bona fide 4-H or FFA project.
Young women over 16 that choose not to run are eligible to hold the title of Dairy Ambassador, girls between the ages of 13-15 are eligible to be Dairy Maid and girls between the ages of 8-12 have the opportunity to serve as a Dairy Miss. Young men interested in dairy promotion can also become a Dairy Ambassador.
