The new sidewalk was in and it was a bright, sunny morning, and six vendors set up shop at the Canton Farmers' Market, Sept. 19.
Kenny Biggs sold goodies to raise funds for his trip to Mexico; The ladies from Country Delights had bread, baked goods and garden produce; John Carpenter sold Piatt Road honey products; Amanda Connell and family sold cinnamon buns, bread and eggs; Ray Chaapel had mousetraps, beets and potatoes and Marlene Boyce had raspberries for sale.
Country Delights said it was their last day but they would be back in the spring! The Farmers' Market will remain open until the weather's too cold or vendors don't show up.
The Farmers' Market will return September 26 from 8 am to noon in Canton's Main St. Park. People with baked goods, garden or farm produce, craft items or similar wares are invited to set up. There is no booth fee. Call 570-673-5151 for information.
No yard sale items, please. The Farmers' Market is sponsored by the Canton Area Chamber of Commerce.
