The Farm Hands Bluegrass Quartet was recently awarded the 2015 Bluegrass Gospel Band and Entertainer of the Year awards. The Farm Hands are one of the most exciting and talented bands in bluegrass music. The group features 4 award winning singers, musicians and songwriters, including two long time veterans of Nashville's Grand Ole Opry.
Gospel music icon Bill Gaither calls Farm Hand's bass player Daryl Mosley "a poet-and we don't have many poets left." As a multi-award winning songwriter, Daryl has written songs featured on 'American Idol', 'The View' and "True Hollywood Story', and has several #1 songs to his credit, including the southern gospel classic, ‘(Ask the Blind Man) He Saw It All. Prior to the Farm Hands, Daryl was the lead vocalist of the award winning bluegrass gospel group, New Tradition and later performed for over a decade as part of the Grand Ole Opry in Nashville.
Singing and playing the resophonic guitar is Grammy award winner Tim Graves. Tim has over 30 years of professional music under his belt, including 20 years as part of world famous Grand Ole Opry. Tim has toured extensively across the U.S. both as a sideman and with his own group. Tim plays his signature 'Tim Graves model' Beard guitar and is the reigning Dobro Player of the Year in bluegrass music, a distinction he has held 9 times and the last 6 years in a row.
Keith Tew is one of bluegrass music's most respected songwriters. Lou Reid and Carolina, Mountain Heart, Ernie Thacker, and Scotty Sparks are among the artists who have recorded his songs. Keith also wrote “Am I A Fool” recorded by the Lonesome River Band and named bluegrass music's 'Song of the Year' a few years back.
Although Bennie Boling is a multi-instrumentalist, most of his time with the Farm Hands is spent on the banjo. His tremendous talent has been recognized by the bluegrass industry by twice nominating Bennie as Banjo Player of the Year. Bennie, who sings bass in the Quartet, is also a talented and successful songwriter, having written songs recorded by country music legends The Oak Ridge Boys, Gene Watson, Jeanie Seeley and many others.
