The Troy VFW and American Legion, along with the Boy Scouts, retired local American flags during the events at the 175 anniversary of Troy Borough, July 4. “It was very moving and a great break from COVID. It reminded me what is important in life. Faith...Family...Freedom...and those that fought for that freedom. It was also so encouraging to see our Veterans training and teaching the next generation,” said Rep. Owlett, who attended the event. He also gave the town of Troy a citation for celebrating 175 years as a town. “The flags that were retired may have been worn and tattered, but the symbol and the country they represent will always be a “land of the free and home of the brave.”
