After worship on Saturday morning, Rev. Scott Tayler, National Director of Congregational Life, gave the keynote address. Like most churches, the Unitarian Universalist church is choosing to consolidate to insure a healthy institution in the years to come. Our local District, the St. Lawrence District is in the process of merging with 3 other districts; it will then be called CERG, the Central East Regional Group. Rev. Tayler spoke of sharing amongst the congregations, whether it be programing, staff, worship, etc. Our own church already shares our Coming of Age training with the Big Flats congregation. Our next Coming of Age training will also be shared with Binghamton, and Ithaca. It will be a wonderful experience for our youth!
After lunch many workshops were offered. Our group participated in topics of stewardship and technology. When it was over we drove to the Falls. How can you go to a conference at Niagara Falls without visiting it?
