Carol Jenkins Kipp was born in Grover on March 10, 1944, the last survivor of seven children of the late Evan E. and Lula (Bastion) Jenkins. “Your legacy of love burns brightly in our hearts, as we remember you.” Carol was the matriarch of her family who forever would lend an ear and had her arms open to give you one of her wonderful hugs. In fact, she insisted on it; whether she knew you your entire life or you were meeting for the first time, you were soon telling “Gram” everything that was on your mind. She acted as a maternal figure to far more than those she actually gave birth to. She was extremely proud and supportive of her children and grandchildren. In early years, Carol worked for a time at the former Swayze Folding Box Co. in Canton. She was a member of the Grover Church of Christ and Canton’s Women of the Moose Lodge 981. Carol was very involved with area youth as a Boy Scout den mother and a Girl Scout troop leader. She also made and decorated beautiful special occasion cakes. Carol enjoyed playing the Yahtzee game with friends, collecting angels and most of all spending time with her children and grandchildren. She was very spontaneous and young at heart, always up for last minute adventures or a spontaneous trip. Read more |
