Bruce M. King Sr., a.k.a. Big B, formerly from Troy, passed away on Sept. 19, 2015 in his home in Deer Lodge, TN from natural causes.

King (Valdese, NC), ![]() George Edward Kilmer died peacefully on Saturday, August 8, 2015 surrounded by loved ones. George had lived in Volant since 1954, however, spent the last three years residing at Avalon Springs Nursing Center in Mercer, PA. George was born on December 27, 1917 to Emery Leo Kilmer and Jennie Avery Kilmer in Ellenton, PA. George married Anna Schmouder on February 9, 1941 and she passed away in June 19, 2002. He was in the Tree Service business for most of his adult life. First, he was employed by the Davey Tree Company and later was self-employed with Kilmer Tree Service. George loved meeting new people and they soon became friends. He enjoyed railroad history; antique automobiles; country and bluegrass music; sharing pictures; traveling; and children. Robert W. "Bob" Kunkle Jr., 66, Towanda, Pa., Asylum Township, passed away Tuesday afternoon, June 16, 2015 at his home following declining health.
Bob was born on Feb. 8, 1949 in Sayre, the son of Robert W. Kunkle Sr. and Vina M. Groover Kunkle. He was a graduate of Towanda High School class of 1968 and later served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. On April 11, 1970 he married the former Lola J. Vanderpool at the Liberty Corners United Methodist Church. Bob was employed by the Claverack Rural Electric Company for 30 years as a lineman and serviceman until his retirement in 2004. Barbara Ellen (Newell) Kendall, 86, Troy, passed away peacefully, June 9, 2015 at Twin Oaks Personal Care Home, Granville Township.
Barbara was born November 17, 1928 in Springfield Township, the daughter of the late Lawrence and Dorothy (Ward) Newell. After graduating from Troy High School, Barbara married Robert G. Kendall on August 14, 1947 and together they raised their three children in the home they built on Mud Creek Road. They celebrated 54 years of marriage before Robert passed away on December 3, 2001. Age 83 of Elmira, NY, passed away May 20th, 2015 at the Arnot Ogden Medical Center.
She was born in Elmira, August 20, 1931 the daughter of the late William and Mary (Adams) Lowery. Doris’ life-long passion for culinary services led her to own and operate Lowery’s Restaurant in Big Flats and manage Pippins Restaurant in Elmira Heights. Later, she ran the kitchen for the local Meals on Wheels. Her family took the top priority in her life, always putting their needs before her own. In her later years, there was nothing she enjoyed more than spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. ![]() Winter is finally over. The sky is blue, the birds are singing, and the daffodils are bright. On April 30, 2015, Doris Y. Knerr, age 99, surrounded by the new warmth of the sun and the love of her family, quietly passed away. Born in Williamsport, PA, Doris was the youngest child of John and Alice Yarrison and lived her youth in the Williamsport-Jersey Shore area. After graduating from Lock Haven State Teachers College, she came to Canton as a substitute elementary school teacher in 1939. She met Frederic E. Knerr on a blind date and they were married in 1941. She spent the rest of her life living in Canton. Donna Korzinek, 71, of Canton, passed away Sunday morning, March 8, 2015 at the Troy Community Hospital.
Born October 20, 1943 in Passaic, NJ, she was the daughter of the late Josephine (Belli) and Michael Kasala. Donna and her husband of 47 years, John E. “Jack” Korzinek, lived in Canton Township for the past 40 years. She was a patron member of the NRA. Nicole Denise Ferris Keefe, 43, Duncannon, PA, passed away February 12, 2015 at her Penn Twp. home, surrounded by her family, after losing her battle with cancer.
Born January 16, 1972 in Tunkhannock, PA, she is the daughter of Kevin and Helen (Waltman) Ferris of New Albany, PA. Dorothy O. “Dottie” (Field) Kuyper, 75, of Troy went to be with her Lord on Tuesday, February 3, 2015 at her home with her family by her side. She was the loving wife of John C. “Jack” Kuyper. The couple married June 4, 1960 and had 54 wonderful years together.
![]() Harold J. Kilmer was born August 18, 1919 in Gillett, the son of the late Floyd and Hattie Kilmer passed away on January 26, 2015 at the Arnot Ogden Medical Center at the age of 95. Harold was a Veteran of the US Navy proudly serving his country during WW II and the Korean War. He retired from American LaFrance after 45 years of dedicated service. Mr. Kilmer was a former resident of Canton, PA. He attended their schools, was the last surviving member of the 1939 Canton Warriors Football Team. He and his beloved Clara enjoyed wintering in Arcadia, FL. He is survived by his son: Kirk L. Kilmer of Painted Post, NY; grandchildren: Craig (Becky) Perry, Curt Perry and Cristen (Mike) Kwiatkowski; Joseph (Tacy) Kilmer and Michael Kilmer; great grandchildren: Morgan and Mitchell Perry; Jacek Kwiatkowski; Kirk Kilmer; sister-in-law, Leona Moretti of Sayre, PA; along with several nieces and nephews. |
