Thomas J. Wilcox, age 74, of Troy, died Thursday, March 12, 2015 at his home. He was born May 28, 1940 in Canton, PA, a son of Lawrence and Lillian (O’Donnell) Wilcox. Thomas was a Volkswagen Mechanic for many years, and a truck driver with J. R. Schugel Trucking Co. before he retired. He was a US Marine Corps veteran and served during the Vietnam War.
Frances E. Whitesell, Gillett, PA was born December 8, 1916 inthe daughter of the late Bradley and Iva (Culver) Seymour, went home to be with her Lord on February 10, 2015 at St. Joseph's Hospital at the age of 98.
Frances was a member of the Fassett Baptist Church for many years. Earl C. Werner, 75, of Millerton, passed away Saturday, February 7, 2015 at Dar-Way Elder Care in Estella.
Born May 14, 1939 in West Orange, N.J. Earl was the only child of Earl and Lillian (Voorhees) Werner. Although he could be set in his ways, Earl was known to be kind, easy-going and a gentleman. His interests included reading and art. Harold Herbert Woodward, age 73, of Roaring Branch, died Sunday, February 1, 2015 at the Williamsport Hospital.
Rita J. Walker Age 57, of Gillett, passed away on Wednesday January 14, 2015 at home surrounded by her family.
Surviving are parents Earl and Patricia Talada Walker; children; Jamie (Susan) Mott, Timothy ( April) Mott, Robert (Michelle) Mott; The love of her life, Ken Eighmey; grandchildren, Troy, Tyler, Cory, Mikayla, Dylan, Kaylee, and Kristina; sisters Sharon (Phil) Brown, Sandra Wolf, Anna (John) Moretz; sister inlaw, Deb Walker; brother, John (Barbara Craig) Walker. Ruth (Smiley) Wells, 89, Troy, PA, passed away on Sunday, January 11, 2015 at Twin Oakes Personal Care Home.
She was the loving wife of the late Herbert K. “Herb” Wells who passed away on May 28, 2004. The couple married October 14, 1949 and had 54 happy years together. Ruth was born on March 11, 1925 in Troy, PA, daughter of the late Benjamin and Marie (Luther) Smiley. She was a graduate of Troy High School, Class of 1942, and was a longtime member of the First Baptist Church of Troy. For several years Ruth worked as Troy’s telephone operator. Ruth was a stylish lady who enjoyed gardening, mowing her lawn, and spending time with friends. Mararet Mason Woodard, 94 of Bentley Creek, PA died on Wednesday, January 7, 2015, at The Homestead in Penn Yan, NY, where she had resided for two years.
She was born on April 15, 1920, in Troy, the daughter of the late John and Emma Mason. Margaret was predeceased by her husband of 65 years, Ronald G. Woodard, and her daughter Darla Lowery. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law R. Dennis and Evelyn Woodard of Penn Yan, daughter and son-in-law Penny and Zane Palmer of Fort Myers Beach, FL, and son-in-law Hubert “Spike” Lowery of Mesquite, NV; her sisters, Beverly Knights and Dorando Hoose, both of Troy; grandchildren, Amy (Todd) Freyman , Laurie (Tom) Morrell, Zane (Alexis) Palmer, Jeff (Stephanie) Lowery, and Brett (Amy) Lowery, eleven great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. Edna E. Swartwood Wittie passed away December 23, 2014. She was born on March 8, 1925 in Mountain Lake in Bradford County, PA.
She was the only child of Carlton Ward and Georgia Bernadeen (Dibble) Swartwood. Edna lived in Fairview in Bradford County until her father's death in 1934, at which time she and her mother moved to East Smithfield, PA on April 26, 1944. Edna was united in marriage with Leslie A. Wittie of Milan and they resided and raised their children on the family farm. |
