Canton High School's Class of 2015 held its Baccalaureate Service on May 31. Rev. Duane Taylor gave the message and Pastors Glen Landis, Sean Tymeson, Bonnie Browning, Dan Colton, Darrin Peachey and Ben Hess had roles. Carol Jones was the accompanist and "The Early Risers" sang Ave Maria.
The entire Kindergarten at Canton Elementary School recently held a program entitled "Healthy Habits."
The program was opened by Fisher and Kailyn. SEE PHOTOS IN JUNE GALLERY Students of the Month for May in Canton Area School District include: seventh grade: Raeann Roupp and Caitlynn May; eighth grade: Tabitha Metzger and Camden Route; ninth grade, Shea Roupp and Joelle Urban; tenth grade, Alyssa Blazer and Anthony Smith; eleventh grade: Susie Liu and Jacob Williams; and twelfth grade: Quin Abercrombie and Abigail Herman Kayla Shay, a resident of Canton and a 2015 Canton High School graduate is the recipient of the Towanda Community Opportunity Scholarship given for studies at Lackawanna College. Miss Shay is the daughter of Joy and Alan Williams. She will use this scholarship to enter the surgical technology program at the college. Kayla noted that she was quite surprised that she won the scholarship, and is very grateful and is looking forward to attending the college to pursue her associate degree. Eighth Grade Oral History Night is always one of the most popular events at Canton High School. This year's event was held on May 13 in the Auditorium Lobby and the adjoining hallway. Visitors had the opportunity to vote on their favorite project. The People's Choice winner was Caitlyn Pepper. |
