Patrons of Canton's Rialto Theatre will have the opportunity to see four great independent films during the Bradford County Regional Arts Council's Winter Film Fest. The festival will run on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays, from Feb. 24 through March 19.

East Smithfield has been open to the community four days per week and Wellsboro’s clinic was one day per week. With the great need for low cost spay/neuter we are increasing East Smithfield to five days and Wellsboro to two days per week. Dr. Miller will continue with the clinic but also is responsible for the sanctuary animal’s care. Robin graduated from New York State College of Veterinary Medicine at Cornell University and has been the sole proprietor of Four Winds Equine and Community Practice in Spencer and Wellness Waggin’ and will continue to provide to her clients. She has also provided spay/neuter services for Stray Haven. ![]() Matthew Allen is excited to announce his candidacy for election to the position of county auditor. Allen has held the position of auditor for Bradford County for the past two and a half years, having been appointed in June of 2012 to fulfill the term of his late mother, Audrey Allen. “I have learned a tremendous amount since my appointment as auditor and humbly ask the voters of the county for their support so that I may continue to apply the knowledge I’ve gained to serve Bradford County.” Matthew Allen is excited to announce his candidacy for election to the position of county auditor. The minutes from the Reorganization and the January meeting were approved. Mr. Tompkins noted that the hourly rate for Supervisors when they serve on the road crew was not in the minutes. Mrs. Morgan said the rate was $10 but was set by the auditors, not the Supervisors, so did not have to be in their minutes. The Canton Area Chamber of Commerce held its February meeting at First Citizens Community Bank. President Eric Schoonover conducted the meeting.
Members reported on news from their businesses: Passion Life Wellness is scheduling workshops, fitness classes, martial arts, massages, acupuncture and other personal improvement classes. The Canton Independent-Sentinel is working on its new website and hopes to have it up and running by next month. Tuesday, February 3rd, the PTA kicked off their annual fundraising campaign to help raise money for the many worthwhile projects and programs that they promote throughout the Canton Area School District.
