Evan's volunteers from both the Republican and Democratic Parties obtained signatures of more than 1,800 Republicans and more than 600 Democrats, well exceeding the 250 threshold needed to get on each party's ballot. "Evan is humbled by and grateful for the outpouring of support the community has given him. Evan chose not to pass his own petition so as to not put local citizens in an uncomfortable position, so the more than 2,400 signatures were all obtained by his supporters," said Committee Co-Chair, retired Lt. Colonel John Herrington. "We were really pleased with the effort. Now we just need to keep the momentum going through the May 19th primary."
