Are you ready to take control of your diabetes? Need help making lifestyle changes? The Dining with Diabetes Program can help. Offered by Penn State Extension, the program is for adults with type 2 diabetes. You will learn to manage diet and exercise to control blood glucose. There is support for making lifestyle changes.
![]() Animal Care Sanctuary has hired Robin Renee Rodgers DVM to assist Alaire Smith-Miller DVM with caring for animals at the low cost community clinics, both in East Smithfield and Wellsboro. East Smithfield has been open to the community four days per week and Wellsboro’s clinic was one day per week. With the great need for low cost spay/neuter we are increasing East Smithfield to five days and Wellsboro to two days per week. Dr. Miller will continue with the clinic but also is responsible for the sanctuary animal’s care. Robin graduated from New York State College of Veterinary Medicine at Cornell University and has been the sole proprietor of Four Winds Equine and Community Practice in Spencer and Wellness Waggin’ and will continue to provide to her clients. She has also provided spay/neuter services for Stray Haven. At the regular meeting of the Troy Chamber of Commerce, President Krystle Bristol welcomed over 26 business representatives. She was delighted that so many were in attendance.
After the minutes and treasurer's reports were given and approved, Robyn Chamberlain gave a report on the membership committee. She requested that plaques be funded for new members. The group passed the motion for the additional funds, which will be taken from the budget. Once again the churches of Troy are inviting you to come together during the Lenten season.
For seven Wednesdays beginning on Feb. 18th (Ash Wednesday) area churches will meet at Troy Baptist Church. The Church of Christ (Disciples of Christ) of Canton with Rev. Bonnie Browning, host minister/tour leader will be sponsoring a trip to New York City, New York to see the Statue of Liberty, Ellis Island and the World Trade Center Memorial.

By now all of the celebrations are behind us and we have been left with snow, snow, snow and bone-chilling cold weather. The challenge for parents and teachers is to teach children how to embrace the harsh winter season. The Troy Pre-K teacher of Bradford-Tioga Head Start found a fun way to do just that!
On Thursday January 29th the Troy Lions Club inducted new member Veronica Seymour. Veronica lives in Troy with her husband Greg and their two sons, Garrett and Levi. She works at First Citizens Community Bank as a Mortgage Originator. As a member of the Troy Borough Council, the Chamber of Commerce and Den Mother for the boy scouts, Veronica is very active in the community. She looks forward to continuing to serve the Community as a Troy Lion.
