![]() At the Troy High School Awards Assembly, Sam Robbins, sonof James and Nancy Robbins, received the United States Coast Guard Academy Scholarship. This is ranked among the nation's most prestigious and selective institutions of higher learning. Each year approximately 10,000 students inquire about admission and only 20 get the appointment and he will be sworn in this summer to the class of 2019. Congratulations to Sam, and Thank you to all who are willing to serve and save our freedom. Pictured with Sam is Mr. Matt Geer, who graduated from the Coast Guard Academy.
On Friday, the Bradford County Envirothon was held at the Mount Pisgah County Park where 17 teams of students were tested on their knowledge in the areas of forestry, soils, aquatics, wildlife, and urban forestry.
Troy once again took first place at the event, which was followed by Northeast Bradford, two teams from North Rome Christian School, then Troy and sixth place was a team from Canton. Those who placed in the top 6 places received a variety of prizes and awards. Nick Martin, Casey Baxter, Tricia Hojnowski, Dawn Zimmerman, and MaKenna Martin of Troy will represent Bradford County at the 2015 PA Envirothon which will be held at the University of Pittsburgh Johnstown and Windber Recreation Park. The Bradford County FFA recently held its county banquet where students are recognized for their year long successes. The prom was well attended and the food and decorations were wonderful.
Thank you to students who cooperated with the school and submitting biographies so readers to learn more about the students in the high school and make their parents proud.
