Troy Junior/Senior High School has released the Honor Roll for the Third Quarter of 2014-15.
There were 42 entries in the science fair this year.
The winners were chosen on the individual project. All winners could come from one grade level or none at all. Since all entries were treated the same, the students had a better chance of having their project chosen. The same number of awards were given out and the judges had a real tough decision. SEE MORE PICTURES IN MAY GALLERY On Good Friday, when most students were at home sleeping, a few FFA members from Troy and Canton FFA chapters ventured out in the field with Rich Gulyas, Senior Operations Analyst of SWN Production Company, LLC.
Rich in his job at Southwestern analyzes soils, plant and animal species, and makes recommendations back to the company on any environmental concerns related to the operations. On his and the students day off, he spent three hours touring a property with the students and helping them prepare for the county envirothon which is to be held on May 8th. The group visited 4 different soil pits, a wetland, and various woodlots. ![]() Sunday evening, three northern-tier high school seniors represented their schools at the 2015 America's Homecoming Queen Pageant at the Lancaster Host and Resort Center in Lancaster, PA. There, the young ladies went through a private interview by the judges, a ball gown segment, and a question and answer time in front of the audience. The program is designed to promote leaders of tomorrow by promoting education, community service, and educational travel. Although the northern tier representation did not move on to the national competition, they learned much through the process and those in their school districts should be proud of the representation at the state level. ![]() Pictured above are the 2015 Senior Prom King and Queen and the court from Canton High School.
